Steven Haberland Obituary – A tragic incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon on State Road 50, resulting in the death of a Hillsborough County Fire medic. The deceased, identified as Steven Haberland, a fifty-year-old resident of Dade City, was off-duty at the time of the accident. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Haberland was traveling eastbound in the inside lane of State Road 50, just west of Olympia Road. In an attempt to overtake another vehicle, he veered into the center grass median.
Unfortunately, Haberland lost control of his car, causing it to spin across the travel lanes and collide with a fence on the south shoulder before ultimately striking a tree. Tragically, Haberland was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Hillsborough County Fire Rescue expressed their deep sorrow and paid tribute to Haberland’s dedication, bravery, and service on their official Facebook page.
They emphasized that he was not only a colleague but also a beloved member of their family.
