Stephanie Deridder Obituary, Death;- The Kent County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation following a fatal automobile accident that occurred in Byron Township last night.
The incident took place at approximately 10:40 p.m. near 100th Street Southwest, west of Homrich Avenue. A vehicle traveling westbound on 100th Street lost control after encountering ice while descending a hill, veering off the road and colliding with a tree. The impact resulted in the vehicle igniting.
The driver, a 39-year-old woman from Holland, managed to exit the vehicle, while a passenger, identified as 43-year-old Stephanie Deridder from Holland, sustained severe injuries and required extraction by emergency personnel.
Despite efforts to administer lifesaving measures, they were ultimately unsuccessful. Deridder was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Sheriff’s Office, alcohol was not a contributing factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
