NORWOOD, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A Stanly County firefighter was killed in an accident recently, according to the Albemarle Fire Department.
The department wrote the following on social media:
“Our hearts are with Stanly County EMS and Center Rural Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department in Norwood as they mourn the loss of one of their own who was killed in a vehicle accident on his way to work. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family, friends, and colleagues.”
Surrounding departments like Albemarle FD will provide response coverage for the Center Rural Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department following the incident.
Center Rural posted a graphic with the black mourning band over the logos of the two agencies where the first responder worked.
