IRON STATION, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man was charged with trafficking methamphetamine after being found in what deputies say was a suspicious vehicle.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded Tuesday, March 18, the 4400 block of N.C. 27 West in reference to a suspicious circumstances call. Upon arrival, they reportedly observed a vehicle occupied by a male and a female who were slumped over in the front seat.
Upon further investigation, deputies allegedly located 27 grams of methamphetamine, cash, and a loaded firearm inside of the vehicle.
William Andrew Gray, 44, of Stanley, was subsequently arrested and charged with:
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver,
- Trafficking methamphetamine,
- Possession of drug paraphernalia, and
- Possession of firearm by a felon.
Gray was given a $130,000 secured bond and was placed in the Harven A. Crouse Detention Center. Investigating officers were Deputy B. Holt and Deputy B. Childers.
