Stacy Pride,Mason French Obituary, Death; – Authorities have confirmed the identities of the two individuals who lost their lives in a tragic shooting at an apartment complex in Alliance on Thursday morning.
Tammy Wilkes, an investigator with the Stark County Coroner’s Office, identified the deceased as 56-year-old Stacy Pride and the alleged shooter as 63-year-old Mason French, both residents of Alliance. Police were dispatched to the apartment complex located at 350 S. Arch Ave. following a 911 call reporting gunfire at approximately 7:40 a.m. Upon their arrival, officers discovered that Pride had already sustained fatal injuries.
According to officials, French shot and killed her prior to the police’s arrival. During the subsequent confrontation with law enforcement, French was shot by the officers, as stated by Sgt. Christopher McCord. Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is overseeing the investigation into this incident. In accordance with departmental policy, the four officers who were present at the scene have been placed on paid administrative leave while the investigation is ongoing. The events leading up to the shooting are still under investigation.
