Solomon Ponce Obituary, Death; – A man was fatally shot on Friday night in Tulare, leading to the arrest of a 17-year-old suspect, as reported by the Tulare Police Department in a statement released on Sunday.
At approximately 10:51 p.m., officers responded to reports of gunfire in the vicinity of San Joaquin Avenue and California Street. Upon arrival, they discovered shell casings on the roadway and found 31-year-old Solomon Ponce suffering from a gunshot wound. He was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Shortly thereafter, authorities were informed that a 39-year-old man had arrived at the hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. Investigators established that he had been present at the scene during the shooting incident. Detectives uncovered that Ponce had engaged in a physical confrontation with several individuals prior to one of the suspects discharging a firearm.
Following the investigation, law enforcement secured a search warrant and apprehended a 17-year-old male on suspicion of his involvement in the shooting, which is believed to be gang-related.
