NORTH CAROLINA (PINPOINT WEATHER) — Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for our mountain counties until midnight tonight for up to three inches of snow.
A cold front moving through is giving us blustery conditions in Charlotte along with dropping temperatures as we head through the afternoon and evening hours with a cold night on the way with lows in the 20s.
The weekend will start off dry with sunny and chilly temperatures on Saturday, but Sunday clouds will roll in with showers possible late in the afternoon in Charlotte with light snow, sleet, and freezing rain in the mountains.
The wintry conditions in the mountains will continue through the overnight with moderate icing possible for the mountain counties.
The rain in Charlotte should wrap by the early afternoon followed by very chilly temperatures the rest of the week with highs in the low 40s and lows in the low 20s.
