Sherwood Patterson Obituary, Death – We wish to express our deepest condolences to the Patterson family on the passing of Sherwood Patterson, who was a committed member of our Holy Swamp Baptist Church family. The loss of Sherwood earlier this week has left a hole in everyone of our hearts, as well as in the hearts of our church, and this vacuum will be keenly felt.
On Monday, October 9, 2023, from one o’clock in the afternoon until two o’clock in the afternoon, family and friends will have the opportunity to pay their respects to Sherwood Patterson and say their goodbyes at Holy Swamp Baptist Church, which was a haven of refuge and community for him throughout his life.
Following the viewing, there will be a funeral ceremony held at 2:00 p.m. at Holy Swamp Baptist Church. During this time of sadness, we will come together to honor his life, reflect on the contributions he made, and find comfort in our faith at Holy Swamp Baptist Church.
As we gather together to commemorate Sherwood, may the love and peace that he gave to all of us be a source of comfort and support for his family as they go through this difficult time. During this time of mourning, our thoughts and prayers are with them, and we want them to know that our condolences come from the bottom of our hearts.
Sherwood’s life served as a powerful illustration of the transformative potential of both religion and perseverance. The unshakable devotion that he has shown to his family, his town, and his values is an example to all of us and serves as a source of motivation for all of us. Those individuals who were fortunate enough to have known him personally will carry his legacy with them always and remember him fondly.
Let us find comfort in the words of 2 Timothy 4:7 during this time of sorrow. “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith.” The conviction that Sherwood Patterson had in God and the bravery that he displayed throughout his life will continue to direct and motivate us.
