Shawn Kirk Hickey Obituary, Death; – A man who died after being hit by a vehicle while trying to cross a dark stretch of road on the Northeast Side has been identified. The medical examiner has identified the man as 50-year-old Shawn Kirk Hickey. He died from blunt force injuries.
The deadly accident happened just before 5 a.m. Monday along Walzem Road and Gibbs Sprawl Road. Police said Shawn was crossing the street when he was hit by a sedan. The driver did stop and call for help. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
No charges are being filed against the driver at this time.
