Shaughqual Laqia Anderson Obituary, Death; – A 23-year-old man was shot and killed Tuesday night in Kalamazoo.
The shooting happened around 10:45 p.m. in the 1100 block of Cadillac Street, according to police. Officers had been responding to the scene when dispatch said the victim was being taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.
At the scene of the shooting, investigators found shell casings and a bullet hole in a home nearby. The 23-year-old man, now identified as Shaughqual Laqia Anderson, arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was pronounced dead around 11:15 p.m.
“Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and all who are grieving this tragic loss,” said Zach Hamelton, Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety Public Information Officer. “Detectives continue to actively investigate, and we are urging anyone with information to come forward.” Police have no suspect information at this time. The investigation is still underway.
