Shamyria Williams Obituary – Shamyria Williams, 23, of Hartford, was an innocent bystander when she was struck by gunfire while sitting inside her car near 60 Cleveland Street, police said. She had no involvement in the incident, according to Lt. Aaron Boisvert. The man who was injured has not been named by the police, but he was also an innocent bystander.
The Hartford Police Department has identified three persons of interest in the shooting. Williams is the tenth homicide victim in Hartford for 2024, and the city had not experienced any homicides in the month of June. However, the relative lull in summer homicides ended with the recent incidents, and the police are hoping that it was just contained to the Fourth of July weekend. Additionally, the department is investigating a double shooting that occurred on Seymour Street the previous evening, where two men were treated for gunshot wounds at a local hospital.
