Sean Dowden Death – The passing of two people who were a part of our community is something that we have to inform you about with a great deal of sorrow and disbelief. Both Sean Dowden and Leroy “One-time Searles” fell suddenly within a single day of one other, leaving us in a state of pain and confusion. Both of these deaths occurred inside the same day. The decision to become a sailor was one that Sean made when he was younger, following in the footsteps of a large number of other young men from the hamlet. In the course of his career, he spent a large amount of time working in the cruise liner industry, eventually rising to a high position within the industry.
As soon as he returned to Grenada, he founded a business that he called “Breadfruit Corner,” which offered canoe tours to the tourism industry. The song “One-Time,” which was a favorite among the people who lived in the Village, was well-known to a significant number of Grenadians. His service in the taxi and bus sector was what gave him the most recognition, and he was always ready with a tale, a joke, or a riddle. He was always eager to engage in conversation.
One-Time never failed to leave you with a grin on your face and a joke that you could not wait to “crack” on someone else. Every single time, you laughed out loud. No matter what the circumstances were, this was always the case.
Despite the fact that we are having a hard time coming to terms with their loss, we would like to use this opportunity to offer our condolences to the immediate family during this trying time. They will be sorely missed by everyone.
