At about 12:34 p.m. today, Scottsbluff Police officers were dispatched to the intersection of East 27th Street and Highway 26 in response to a motor vehicle accident. The collision involved a single vehicle and a sport motorcycle.
Dispatch advised that the rider of the motorcycle was not breathing and did not have a pulse. Lifesaving measures were attempted by the Scottsbluff Fire Department, Regional West Ambulance Services, and a registered nurse who stopped to assist. Despite their efforts, the motorcycle rider was declared deceased at the scene.
The only two vehicles involved were the sport motorcycle and a 2009 Subaru Outback. The driver of the Subaru reported no injuries.
The case has been assigned to a Scottsbluff Police Department Certified Accident Reconstructionist and is currently under active investigation.
The name of the deceased will be released after the notification of next of kin.
