Scott Hendy Death, Football Manager Killed At South Gloucestershire, Man Arrested For Manslaughter : A man from Pilning has been sentenced to prison for the manslaughter of a football manager outside a pub in South Gloucestershire. George Baylis, 28, struck Scott Hendy, 46, with a single punch outside a pub on Redwick Road, Pilning, around 12:10 am on Saturday, March 2. Mr. Hendy fell and sustained a severe head injury. He was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he tragically passed away the following day.
Baylis, residing on Redwick Road, pleaded guilty to manslaughter last month. He was sentenced to four years and six months at Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday, May 29. Baylis is required to serve at least half of his sentence. The incident took place in the pub’s car park, where an argument between the two men escalated, leading Baylis to strike Mr. Hendy once. Police officers who arrived at the scene interviewed several witnesses who described the sequence of events.
