Scott Cornell Binde Obituary, Death; – Maryland State Police reported that a collision between a vehicle and a bicyclist resulted in the death of a cyclist from Alexandria in Frederick County, Maryland on Saturday afternoon. The incident occurred before 3:30 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. Route 15 and Catoctin Furnace Road. According to authorities, a Toyota 4Runner traveling north on Route 15 struck the bicyclist who was crossing Route 15 from west to east at Catoctin Furnace Road.
The bicyclist, identified as Scott Cornell Binde, 64, of Alexandria, was pronounced dead by Frederick County fire and rescue. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene, and there is no suspicion of alcohol involvement in the crash. The Maryland State Police are currently investigating the cause of the collision. Following the incident, the northbound lanes of U.S. Route 15 were closed for approximately three hours.
