Schweitzer Dessin Obituary, Death; – A 23-year-old man, identified by Delaware State Police as Schweitzer Dessin, was fatally shot on Wednesday afternoon in a park in Seaford. While no arrests have been made thus far, authorities are actively investigating the incident that resulted in Dessin’s death and left three other men injured.
Initial findings suggest that during a large altercation, “unidentified suspects discharged multiple rounds at the victims.” Officers responded to a report of a shooting at Nutter Park, located at 712 Collins Ave., around 4:25 p.m. on March 12, as stated by Delaware State Police.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Dessin, a Seaford resident, with gunshot wounds. They initiated life-saving measures until he could be transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries, according to police reports.
Two additional men, aged 19 and 21, were able to transport themselves to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. Another 23-year-old man also sought medical attention at a nearby hospital, suffering from injuries that were not life-threatening.
Due to the nature of the incident, the Seaford police have requested that the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit take over the investigation.
