Samori Husamudeen Obituary, Death; – The Fayetteville Police Department announced on Wednesday that a woman has been apprehended in Pennsylvania in relation to the fatal shooting of a delivery driver at a McDonald’s in December.
On December 26, 25-year-old Samori Husamudeen was shot and killed at the McDonald’s located at 5009 Santa Fe Drive in Fayetteville while he was working as a DoorDash delivery driver and retrieving an order. The following day, 25-year-old Kevin Holland, an employee of McDonald’s, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the incident.
Nearly two months later, 48-year-old Shahida Burrows from Spring Lake was arrested in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on outstanding warrants. Police have indicated that Burrows is the mother of Holland.
Court documents reveal that upon reviewing surveillance footage from the McDonald’s shooting, investigators observed a woman—later identified as Burrows—“grabbing a napkin from the business, picking up several shell casings from the floor,” and seemingly placing the napkin containing the casings into her pocket.
The warrant information filed by the Fayetteville Police Department states, “When the Forensic Unit began collecting evidence, only one shell casing was found at the scene despite multiple shots being fired.” Furthermore, during an interview with detectives from the Fayetteville Police Department Homicide Unit, Burrows did not mention collecting the casings, nor did she surrender them to law enforcement.
According to police, Burrows has been extradited to Fayetteville and is facing charges of accessory after the fact and obstruction of justice. She is currently being held at the Cumberland County Detention Center on a bond of $100,000.
