Sammy Townes Obituary – “What a remarkable preacher, Pastor Sammy Townes. His faith, compassion, and powerful messages touched countless lives. He was a guiding light, mentor, friend, and an inspiration to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with his children, church family, funeral staff and all those who were connected. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.”
Survviors include his children: Samuel Townes Jr., Steven Townes, Glynis Taylor, Gwendolyn Alston, Ida Anderson, Barbara Durham, Stoney Bullock, and Theresa Snow; one sister Viola “Theartis” Wright; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A private graveside service will be held at 3 pm, Saturday at St. John Baptist Church cemetery. Public Viewing will be from noon to 5 pm, Friday in the funeral home chapel.
