Samarian Lindsay Obituary, – The Rock Hill Police Department has reported that a woman has died following an argument between coworkers that escalated on Wednesday. The deceased woman has been identified as Samarian Lindsay, a 39-year-old resident of Rock Hill, according to the York County Coroner’s Office.
Authorities received a call regarding a shooting on June 19, just after 3 p.m., near Celriver Road on Riverwalk Parkway. Upon arrival, they discovered Lindsay with a gunshot wound to the chest. A man was apprehended at the scene. Lindsay was transported to Piedmont Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead.
Investigators believe that Lindsay and the man involved in the incident were coworkers at a nearby store. The altercation occurred at their workplace. Following the argument, Lindsay entered a vehicle driven by her girlfriend, Brittney Reed, aged 32 and from Lancaster. When the man entered his own vehicle and drove away, Reed blocked his car with hers.
According to authorities, Lindsay approached the man’s window with a handgun, prompting him to draw his own firearm and shoot her. Reed intervened by punching the man in the face but ceased her actions when he yelled at her to leave. He then waited for the arrival of the police. The man is not facing charges as the shooting is believed to have been an act of self-defense. However, Reed has been arrested and charged with assault and battery.
The following day, the police announced that Reed would also be charged with murder. This decision was made due to the fact that she brought the gun to the confrontation at Lindsay’s request. The authorities stated that Reed was aware that blocking the man’s car could potentially result in someone’s death.
Two firearms were discovered at the crime scene. Autopsy and toxicology reports are expected to be completed within the week. The Rock Hill Police Department is currently conducting an ongoing investigation into the incident.
