Sabrina Ford Death
Her family has announced that a celebration of life service will take place on Saturday, November 16th, at 10 a.m. in the Bloomer Sullivan Gymnasium on Southeastern’s campus in Durant. In tribute to Sabrina’s life and legacy, attendees are encouraged to wear white, a color often symbolizing peace, purity, and respect, reflecting the warmth and positivity she brought to her work and her relationships. This request for white attire resonates with the spirit of Sabrina, who valued unity, resilience, and compassion in all her endeavors.
Her daughter, Jaylin, shared a heartfelt message on Sabrina’s Facebook page, inviting those who were touched by her mother’s presence to honor her memory by gathering to share stories and celebrate her life. Jaylin wrote, “Mom would have wanted her celebration of life to be just that—a celebration.” Following the service, there will be a luncheon hosted in the south parking lot across from the university, where attendees can come together, share memories, and support one another in the face of this significant loss. Additionally, for those unable to attend in person, Jaylin noted that the family is working to arrange a live stream of the service, so that Sabrina’s extended community can join in honoring her legacy from afar.
The profound impact Sabrina had on the lives of her students and colleagues cannot be overstated. Her dedication to TRIO and ODSA was marked by a deep-seated commitment to creating an inclusive, empowering environment for individuals of all backgrounds. Her legacy will undoubtedly live on in the lives of those she mentored and the community she helped build.
