Ryan Wokatsch Obituary, Death – On October 2, 2024, Ryan R. Wokatsch, 32, of Wausau, Wisconsin, sadly passed away suddenly. Ryan Wokatsch was the beloved son of Randy and Kerry (Utecht) Wokatsch, born on April 22, 1992. His steadfast devotion to his family, friends, and the community throughout his life left a lasting impression on everyone he came into contact with.
Ryan tied the knot with the love of his life, Brittany Peche, in a moving ceremony at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church in Marathon on August 16, 2014. Stella and Samuel, their two cherished children, were raised in a loving home as their marriage developed into a partnership based on love, respect, and common goals. A pillar of Ryan’s life was his commitment as a husband and father, and he took great pleasure in every second he spent with his loved ones.
As an underwriter for Church Mutual Insurance in Merrill, Ryan used his meticulous attention to detail and strong work ethic in his professional role. His upbringing on a farm taught him the importance of diligence and reliability. His professional life and daily contacts demonstrated these attributes, as he consistently offered assistance to others and embodied the values of community and service.
Ryan was an avid sports fan, especially of basketball. His passion for the game blossomed while he was a player for the Wausau East High School Huskies. His time on the court as a college student added even more value to his life, and he enjoyed competing in regional Gus Macker events. Ryan was a passionate football fan in addition to being a basketball player. He also liked going to the gym, going deer hunting, and playing yard games and cards with his friends and family. He was happy doing these things and it helped him build stronger relationships with the people he cared about.
For Ryan, taking family trips was a cherished custom. He liked spending time with his loved ones making memories, and those moments will always have a particular place in their hearts. His sincere chuckles, carefree demeanor, and readiness to accept life’s adventures added joy and significance to every gathering.
In addition to being a loving son and brother, Ryan is remembered as a dedicated husband and father. His siblings, Kyle (Breanna), Ross (Mariah), and Kory (Rebekah Henrichs), his grandmother, Caroline Wokatsch, his parents, Randy and Kerry, and their children, Stella and Samuel, all survive him. In addition, he leaves behind a large number of brothers-in-law, aunts, uncles, and close family friends who will all sadly miss him.
His paternal grandfather, Robert Reinke, who is survived by Kathleen Hannes, as well as his maternal grandparents, Don and Joan Utecht, and grandfather, Henry Wokatsch, all passed away before him. Ryan left behind a legacy of love and joy that will live on in the lives of everybody he touched.
