Ryan Piezonka Obituary, Death; – A 64-year-old man from Lakemoor has been charged with murder following the fatal shooting of his son over the weekend.
On Wednesday, the McHenry County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identity of the victim as 31-year-old Ryan Piezonka from Lake Zurich. His father, James Piezonka, aged 64, faces two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly shooting his “son and roommate” five times, according to reports from Shaw Local News Network.
Authorities discovered Ryan Piezonka lying in the roadway on Rand Road-Route 120 in Lakemoor early Sunday morning. A passerby, who found him in the street, reported that Ryan approached her vehicle and stated, “my dad shot me,” before collapsing into her car and subsequently falling unconscious onto the road, as detailed by Assistant State’s Attorney Ashley Romito during a court hearing on Monday.
Ryan was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. On Tuesday, Judge Cynthia Lamb of the McHenry County Circuit Court ordered that James Piezonka be held as the legal proceedings continue. Court documents indicate that James Piezonka has a history of felony convictions, including robbery and assault, which rendered him prohibited from possessing a firearm, as reported by Shaw Local News Network.
