Ruthanne Berry Obituary, Death; – The Richmond Police Department’s Crash Team has identified the woman who tragically lost her life due to a hit-and-run incident while crossing West Main Street earlier this month.
According to a spokesperson for the Richmond Police, “At approximately 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, February 5, officers responded to reports of a collision in the 2600 block of West Main Street.” Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult female, identified as Ruthanne Berry, 52, from Richmond, lying on the ground and unresponsive. She was subsequently transported to a local hospital with injuries deemed life-threatening. Unfortunately, Berry passed away from her injuries the following day.
Investigators have established that Berry was walking south on North Robinson Street and attempted to cross West Main Street at a crosswalk when she was struck by a dark-colored vehicle. The driver of the car did not stop and continued westbound on West Main Street.
Further inquiries revealed that the vehicle had exited a parking lot located at 1911 West Main Street, which houses Sky Box Sports Lounge, a Virginia ABC store, and a Family Dollar store, at approximately 10:46 p.m., just four minutes prior to the collision.
