Roy Campbell Obituary, Beloved Resident Of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, Has Passed Away: On June 2, 2024, Roy Stephen Campbell, 57, of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, departed from this life at Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. The late Randall Campbell and Norma (Stephens) Campbell were his parents, and he was born in Greensburg, Pennsylvania on September 29, 1966.
Roy received a BS in agricultural education from The Pennsylvania State University and an MS from Duquesne University. Roy taught agriculture for 36 years, working for Penns Manor and Derry Area School Districts. Many accolades were bestowed onto Roy over his career, one of which being Pennsylvania’s 2023 Outstanding Agricultural Horticultural Program. Roy cherished his land and the certified Dorset sheep that belonged to his family. Roy, who loved everything Penn State, would spend many weekends watching Penn State football with Lisa.
games. Roy was an active member of Blairsville’s Boy Scout Troop 4 and the proud parent of two Eagle Scouts. Roy was a longstanding member of the Blairsville First Methodist Church and served on the board of trustees. Roy, who was active in the agricultural community in Westmoreland and Indiana, spearheaded numerous initiatives to give young people the chance to thrive through fairs and other events. Many people loved Roy, including his family, his former classmates, and his coworkers.
His 31-year-wife, Lisa (Fertal) Campbell of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, sons, Stephen A. and Cory R. Campbell of Blairsville, Pennsylvania, brother, Todd Campbell of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, brother, Kevin R. Campbell and wife, Cathy, of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, and father and mother-in-law, Garry and Barbara Fertal, survive him. His parents and nephew, Christopher Campbell, predated him in death. Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717.
On Thursday, June 6, 2024, from 10 to 11 AM, there will be another visitation at Blairsville First Methodist Church. Pastor Bob Penrose will preside over a funeral ceremony, which begins at 11:00 AM.
