Roshena Mason Obituary, Death; – A woman lost her life in a collision on a treacherous highway in Winston-Salem early Monday morning, as reported by law enforcement officials. The incident occurred shortly after 3:30 a.m. on the northbound lane of US-52, just beyond the Patterson Avenue overpass.
Authorities indicated that the driver, identified as Roshena Mason, lost control of her vehicle, resulting in a crash against several trees. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. According to police, “The overpass was found to be slick due to weather conditions.” Mason was declared dead at the scene, while a passenger in the vehicle was transported to the hospital and is anticipated to recover.
A wintry mix affected parts of the Piedmont and mountains early Monday, contributing to hazardous road conditions, with rain expected to persist across much of the state throughout the day.
