Ronald Moyer Obituary – The passing of Ronald G. Moyer on March 24, 2024, in Whitehall Manor, leaves a void in the hearts of all who knew him. Beloved husband of Debra E. Moyer for 48 years, Ron was a pillar of strength and kindness within the Orefield community. Born in Allentown to Lester B. and Arlene V. Moyer, Ron’s life was defined by his unwavering commitment to serving others and his deep love for his family and friends.
Ron’s dedication to his community was evident in his selfless acts of kindness. As a devoted neighbourhood helper, he spent summers mowing lawns and winters shovelling sidewalks for his neighbours, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the year. His generous spirit extended to every aspect of his life, as he made sure everyone had drinks and food at gatherings, spreading joy and camaraderie wherever he went.
An avid lover of golf, camping, and spending time with loved ones, Ron lived life to the fullest. His passion for coaching baseball was evident in his involvement with Orefield Baseball, North Parkland Baseball, and Parkland HS JV, where he served as an assistant coach alongside his son Lee, who was the head coach. Ron’s dedication to mentoring young athletes left a lasting impact on the community and inspired countless individuals to pursue their dreams with determination and perseverance.
Throughout his 35-year career at Dorney Printing / Day-Timer’s, where he started at the young age of 18, Ron’s commitment to excellence and leadership was unwavering. Later, he brought his love of coaching to a managerial role at The Hitters Edge, where he continued to positively influence the lives of those around him. Ron is survived by his loving wife Debra, his son Lee and wife Ashley, his daughter Lisa and wife Alice Evans, his cherished grandchildren Colin, Nora, and Moss, as well as his siblings Dave Moyer, Doris Hunsicker, and Ann Koren.
Together, they mourn the loss of a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. A memorial service to celebrate Ron’s life will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus. Visitation will take place on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, and on Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Ronald G. Moyer’s legacy of service, love, and dedication will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in eternal peace.
