The Kern County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) has indicated that their investigation is ongoing, with the possibility of additional suspects being involved.
On February 4, 2025, at approximately 6 a.m., deputies responded to reports of a shooting at Potomac Park. Upon their arrival, they discovered Rolando German Ramirez Vargas, a 21-year-old resident of Bakersfield, suffering from a gunshot wound. He was declared deceased at the scene.
On February 10, 2025, KCSO detectives from the Homicide Unit arrested 19-year-old Isaac Barraza, charging him with the murder of Vargas. Subsequent investigations resulted in the arrests of 18-year-old Mario Bravo and 19-year-old Joseph Truskoski, who face charges of conspiracy and being an accessory after the fact. KCSO has stated that detectives are continuing their efforts to identify and apprehend any additional suspects.
