Wednesday morning, a multi-vehicle incident on Highway 99 (Southwest Pacific Highway), two miles north of Sherwood, resulted in one fatality and one badly injured person.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports that 72-year-old Robert Blomquist of Sherwood collided with another vehicle traveling north on Highway 99.
Blomquist crossed the median, lost control of his vehicle, and collided head-on with a box truck.
Later on, a dump truck was also struck by the box truck.
Another individual suffered severe injuries and was admitted to the hospital; however, they are anticipated to make a full recovery.
