Robert Anderson Obituary, – An investigation is underway by the Allegheny County police after a bicyclist tragically lost their life in North Park on Tuesday evening. The incident occurred when the bicyclist apparently collided with downed power lines along Pearce Mill Road near Olympia Grove. Upon receiving the report at 8:22 p.m., county dispatch alerted the authorities, who arrived at the scene to find the man amidst the wires.
However, due to the live wires, first responders initially faced difficulties in reaching the victim. Consequently, crews from the Duquesne Light Company were called in to cut off power to the area. Tragically, the man was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as 63-year-old Robert Anderson. The investigation is ongoing, with police closing off the affected part of the trail and the main entrance at Olympia Grove. This incident occurred following a recent bout of storms that caused trees and power lines to be knocked down in the area.
