Ricky Langs Obituary, Death; – The individual who lost his life in a suspected road rage incident has been identified as 62-year-old Ricky Langs.
“He was the life of the party. He brought smiles wherever he went. He was a genuinely good person,” stated Shelby Johnson, Langs’ daughter.
On Tuesday afternoon, she gathered with her family on the couch, reminiscing through photographs and videos of the man who brought joy to her life. She noted that his humor and distinctive style made him unforgettable.
“One thing about him was that he was always well-dressed,” Johnson remarked. Johnson maintained daily communication with her father, fostering a strong bond between him and her children.
“We video chatted every night. It was a daily routine,” Johnson shared.
On Monday evening, Johnson did not receive her usual text from her father indicating he had arrived home safely. Instead, she received a call from her cousin, Diana Langs. “She could barely get the words out, just saying, ‘He’s gone,’” Johnson recounted, tears in her eyes.
According to the Fort Worth Police, Langs was discovered unconscious and bleeding in his vehicle. The initial call reporting a traffic hazard came in around 7 p.m. on Monday along the service road of Loop 820 North. He was transported to the hospital but succumbed shortly thereafter.
Authorities believe that road rage may have been a factor in the shooting; however, no additional information regarding the suspected shooter or the getaway vehicle has been released.
“How could someone do this to an innocent person? You have taken him away from my children and our family. How can you live with yourself and not come forward?” Johnson expressed. Anyone with relevant information is urged to reach out to the Fort Worth Police Department.
