Richard Zuschlag Died – We announce to you, with heavy hearts, the passing of our leader, friend, and mentor, Richard Emery Zuschlag. Richard put up the valiant battle that countless others who have faced cancer and its aftereffects have had to. We are reassured that he is no longer in pain even as we grieve our terrible loss. He had steadfast confidence in his Lord, and now he is in his loving arms. Richard was a well regarded and adored change agent not just in Louisiana but all over the country.
His legacy lives on in his lovely family, in every life he spared, in every patient he assisted, and in every fight he led to guarantee that everyone had access to first-rate healthcare. When defending the people and causes he cared about most his family, his coworkers, and the communities he worked in he never gave up. His work continues to this day in the company he spent 53 years assiduously building and tending to. In addition to being a prosperous company, Acadian Companies is a shining example of how servant leadership, strong moral principles, and unrelenting perseverance can lead to success for everyone.
We will forever be changed, forever be grateful, and forever be better because of who Richard was and the lessons and legacy he has left us. He was always trying to unite people for the common good and treated everyone with respect. It is our collective responsibility to uphold this heritage by imitating him and his faith in whatever we do. We shall continue Richard’s life’s work in his honor since he has made Acadian stronger than it has ever been. We would especially want to thank Paul Hamilton, Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drs. Jason Breaux and Charles Burnell, as well as all of his friends and medical professionals who helped him.
