Richard, known to many as Richie Irish, lil’ Dicky, or “Crab,” was beloved for his generous spirit and compassionate nature. He had a heart of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand and spread joy to those around him. Whether as a son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, or friend, Richard’s warmth and affection left a lasting impression on everyone he encountered. Richard is survived by his cherished children, Cassandra, Isabella, Jaxon, Verena, and Trenajiah, as well as his grandson, Kylan, affectionately known as “PP’s big boy.” He was a devoted son to Maureen and Pete Procopio, and a beloved brother to Eric, Brandy, and Candace. He leaves behind a multitude of friends, neighbors, and loved ones who will forever cherish the memories they shared with him. A prayer service to honor Richard’s life will be held at 6:30pm on Wednesday, March 6, at the Edward J. Ryan & Son Funeral Home, located at 3180 Bellevue Ave. Calling hours will precede the service, from 4-6:30pm. A Funeral service will follow on Thursday, March 7, at 10:30am at the same location. Richard will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Dewitt. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the SPCA or the Rescue Mission in Richard’s memory. These organizations were close to Richard’s heart, and supporting them is a meaningful way to honor his legacy of compassion and caring.
