Rescue Ridge Death – In loving memory of a true rescuer and good friend, may Cathy rest in peace. Cathy was a central part of our rescue family, having dedicated over a decade of her life to the mission at Rescue Ridge. Her passion for animal welfare was evident in every aspect of her work, and her unwavering commitment transformed countless lives. As a foster volunteer, Cathy provided both long-term and short-term care for dogs, ensuring they felt cherished and secure in her home. Each dog that passed through her doors was not just a temporary guest; they became part of her family. With a warm heart and nurturing spirit, Cathy created a haven where rescue dogs could heal, learn, and thrive. Her home was filled with love, laughter, and the joyous chaos that only comes from caring for multiple dogs, each one receiving her full attention and affection.
Cathy had a special affinity for Pit Bulls, recognizing their misunderstood nature and the challenges they often faced. Her dedication to these dogs was unwavering, and she became an advocate for their welfare, fighting against stereotypes and spreading awareness about their true, loving nature. Among the many dogs she fostered, Cathy stepped up to help two Pit Bulls from the Humane Society in Tinton Falls. With her nurturing care, these dogs blossomed, enjoying fantastic, spoiled lives that they so richly deserved. Cathy not only saved them but also gave them the opportunity to experience the joys of being loved and part of a family. Cathy’s commitment to rescue extended beyond just fostering; she was a compassionate friend to all the dogs she met.
She planned to adopt Mia, a spirited Pit Bull who had stolen her heart, but her love only grew when she discovered that Mia had a baby, Chloe. Without hesitation, Cathy opened her home and heart to both of them, embracing the challenge of raising a mother and daughter duo. In her care, Mia and Chloe flourished, knowing they were safe, loved, and forever a part of Cathy’s family. The impact Cathy had on the lives of so many dogs is immeasurable. Her legacy lives on in the countless animals she rescued and the love she shared with them. As we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life, filled with kindness, compassion, and an unwavering belief in the power of love. Cathy’s spirit will continue to inspire us all, reminding us of the importance of giving a second chance to those in need. Rest in peace, dear friend; you will be deeply missed.
