New evidence suggests a luxury car carrying a prominent industrialist rear-ended a fuel tanker on the Delhi-Mumbai expressway on August 22, resulting in the deaths of two people and the injuries of four others; police in Haryana have formed a special investigation team (SIT) to investigate the crash. The industrialist, identified by police as Kuber Group director Vikas Malu, was one of three persons in a Rolls Royce that smashed into a tanker on an expressway within the Nuh district borders at a speed of approximately 200kmph.
According to witnesses, the Rolls Royce took fire shortly after the collision, and passengers were rescued by passengers in other vehicles traveling with Malu. The tanker tipped over as a result of the incident, but the diesel it was transporting did not catch fire. “We have registered the case against the driver of the luxury car but yet to confirm who was behind the wheels since all the occupants are undergoing treatment and have been declared unfit to record the statements,” said Narender Bijarniya, superintendent of police in Nuh. HT’s requests for comment from the Kuber Group’s upper echelons went unanswered.
Officials from the Nagina police station in Nuh and the crime investigation unit (CIA) will make up the SIT, the police have announced. Both cars were going in the same direction, away from Gurugram, therefore it was initially thought that the tanker driver had driven the wrong way and caused the collision. We have reviewed all of the surveillance films and passenger videos. When the car crashed into the oil tanker, it was making a U-turn at less than 20 kilometers per hour. He explained that the force of the impact caused the object to ignite.
According to Bijarniya, the vehicle was going faster than 200kph and, based on the information collected from the regional transport department, it was likely just purchased from a company in Mumbai. Meenal Yadav, a local of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh, saw the accident from a safe distance behind the oil tanker. My truck and the oil tanker both belong to the same transportation firm. I witnessed the high-speed automobile crash into the tanker, causing it to flip. Sparks were flying everywhere, including the automobile, but within minutes, three people jumped out of an SUV, grabbed three others from the car, and drove off in the direction of Delhi.
The passengers got out of the burning car just in time. He claimed, “My two pals, Rampreet Kumar and Kuldeep Singh, were killed instantly by the fire. Malu was reportedly admitted to a private hospital in Gurugram for treatment and is now safe to make a statement, according to a top administrator at the facility.Nagina police station’s investigating official Ashok Kumar stated that all three passengers in the luxury vehicle would be notified to provide a statement and identify the driver. Those in the convoy “took the three injured to the Gurugram hospital before the police team arrived on the scene,” he said.
The police claimed that surveillance footage from the final toll booth inside Gurugram’s jurisdiction, located 12 kilometers outside of Alipur, showed that the Rolls Royce was part of a convoy of four or five automobiles. At 11:09 a.m., a Fortuner, Safari, Range Rover, and Rolls Royce drove through the toll plaza, according to Bijarniya, and 13 minutes later, the Rolls Royce broke away from the group and sped off. According to Yadav, he rushed the victims to Nalhar Medical College in an ambulance, where they were pronounced dead upon arrival.
According to the police, a case was filed at the Nagina police station against an unidentified Rolls Royce driver based on Yadav’s allegation under sections 279 (rash driving), 337 (causing hurt by conduct endangering life or personal safety of others), and 304A (causing death by negligence). Video surveillance captures the moment a high-end vehicle loses control at speeds in excess of 200 kilometers per hour and slams into a stationary oil tanker. SHO Ratan Lal said, “A case has been registered against unknown persons.”
