Today, we come together to celebrate the life of Mr. Clinton “Clint” D. Vogel, a beloved husband, father, and pillar of the community, who touched the lives of many with his warmth, kindness, and zest for life. With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Clint as he embarks on his final journey, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.
Clint Vogel, 81, was born to Edward and Louise Vogel on April 12, 1943. A proud resident of Newtown, CT, and a longtime member of the Westport community, Clint’s passion for life was evident in everything he did. He was a skilled electrician and the owner of Vogel Electric Service, where he dedicated himself to his craft with unwavering commitment.
Beyond his professional endeavours, Clint deeply loved horses and was an avid polo player at the Fairfield County Hunt Club in Westport. His love for sports extended to bowling and golf, where he found joy and camaraderie with friends and fellow enthusiasts. Clint’s adventurous spirit led him and his late wife, Joan, on many memorable travels, with Ogunquit, Maine, holding a special place in their hearts.
Clint is survived by his loving daughter, Diane Dias, and her husband, Joe, of Woodbury, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan, and two brothers, Fred and Donald Vogel.
The family will gather to receive friends at the Harding Funeral Home on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. This will be followed by a heartfelt service in honour of Clint’s life. While interment will be private, Clint’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Marginal Way Preservation Fund, an organization close to Clint’s heart dedicated to conserving the beautiful Marginal Way coastal path in Ogunquit, Maine. Donations can be made online at www.marginalwayfund.org.
As we bid farewell to Clint Vogel, let us hold onto the cherished memories we shared with him and take comfort in knowing that his spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
