According to the Statesville Police Department, the recent death of a Statesville woman has been ruled a homicide. 33-year-old Shelbie Smith was found deceased in her home on Hickory Avenue in Statesville at approximately 4 a.m. on Saturday, May 1.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Statesville Police Department at 704-878-3516. As of Saturday (June 8) investigators had yet to provide any other details concerning the death.
