Rebecca “Becky” Weber Obituary, Death – On Monday, April 1, 2024, Rebecca “Becky” Weber, 32, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away. Father John Lantsberger will preside over the funeral mass, which will take place at the Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church in Watertown on Friday, April 5, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. Brad Heesch will lead the song, and Jane Rokusek will play the organ.
Thursday, April 4, 2024, from 5-7 p.m., there will be a scripture service at the Wight & Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown. The Watertown cemetery, St. Mary’s, will be the site of interment. The godparents, Steve and Joan Weber, as well as Christi Walz, Kara Tesch, Amber Lein, and Ashlee Weber, will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Tyler Lamb, Austin Tesch, Eric Tesch, Brett Denman, Scott Denman, and Brian Denman will all be pallbearers. The Rebecca Weber Memorial Fund has been set up with the Watertown Community Foundation in place of flowers. I’m grateful.
Richard and Karen (Zirbes) Weber welcomed Rebecca Louise Weber into the world on June 13, 1991, in Watertown, South Dakota. She attended Watertown High School, where she graduated in 2009, and was involved in debate, tennis, 4H, and the Watertown Community Foundation Youth Council.
She majored in both accounting/finance and non-profit management at the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, where she received her degree in 2013. She spent many summers helping kids deal with a parent’s cancer diagnosis while volunteering at Camp Kesem.
During her college years, Becky worked as an intern at United HealthCare. After graduating, she started her job there as an Accounting Consultant and Financial Analyst, where she is still employed now. She held a CPA license in South Dakota and Minnesota. Becky recently started working part-time with non-profit accounts at Ledgers.
2019 saw her return to Watertown, and she was eager to get active in the community. She joined Kiwanis and presently holds the position of treasurer. She also sits on the boards of the Watertown Boys and Girls Club and Watertown Excite. She continued to assist with weekend judging for Watertown Debate. She gave of her time to the Codington County 4-H as well. She participated in the planning of the Watertown Puzzle Party, which aims to assist our neighborhood in solving the greatest puzzle in the world by 2023. She was most recently one of 11 finalists for the Day of Development’s Top 4 under 40.
Richard and Karen Weber of Watertown, South Dakota, Becky’s brothers Travis and Amanda Weber, along with their daughters Lillian, Evelyn, Lilah, and Eleanor from Henry, South Dakota, Jarod and Cheyanne Weber, and their new son Boden from Watertown, South Dakota, are all alive. Becky’s paternal grandparents, Harry and Joyce Weber, and maternal grandparents, Donna and James Zirbes, are celebrating with her in heaven.
