WOODBRIDGE, NJ — This morning, members of the Marine Division collaborated with Port Reading’s Marine Unit for their annual training exercise in Woodbridge. The scenario simulated a rescue operation involving multiple victims in the water, followed by decontamination procedures conducted by the County Hazmat team.
The training emphasized the importance of preparedness and coordination among different emergency response units, ensuring they are well-equipped to handle real-life maritime emergencies.
In related news, Marine 5 had a particularly busy Saturday, responding to four separate maritime emergencies. The division reminds all kayakers and jetski operators to wear life vests and maintain a reliable means of communication to call for help in case of emergencies.
This exercise was supported by the Perth Amboy Fire Officers Association, Port Reading Fire Department, Woodbridge Township Professional Firefighters Association, and the Middlesex County Firefighters Association/IAFF Local 3451. These organizations play a crucial role in maintaining safety and readiness for emergency situations.
