Randolph McKinley Obituary, Death; – A pedestrian has lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in St. James Parish on Tuesday, December 10.
As reported by the Louisiana State Police, troopers from Troop C initiated an investigation into the incident, which occurred on Louisiana Highway 70, west of the Sunshine Bridge, shortly before 5 a.m. Preliminary findings indicate that a 2014 GMC Sierra was traveling east on the highway when 63-year-old Randolph McKinley, a resident of Convent, was crossing the eastbound lanes from the north.
The circumstances surrounding the collision are still under investigation, but it is known that the Sierra struck McKinley, resulting in fatal injuries; he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Sierra was wearing a seatbelt and sustained no injuries. A breath test revealed no alcohol in the driver’s system, and there is no suspicion of impairment. Additionally, a routine toxicology sample was collected from McKinley as part of the ongoing investigation
