Quentin Powell, a vibrant and adventurous 15-year-old student at Gibson Southern High School, has passed away, leaving his family, friends, and community in shock and grief. Quentin, affectionately known as “Q,” died on May 11, 2024, at the tender age of 15. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
Quentin was born on December 16, 2008, in Woodbridge, Virginia, to Laura and Tiffany Gordon. He was a freshman at Gibson Southern High School and would have graduated in 2027. Quentin had a strong desire to become a Marine since kindergarten and loved spending time at the beach, swimming, and reading. He was also an avid fan of Harry Potter and enjoyed visiting Universal Studios and Disney World.
Quentin’s love for adventure and excitement was evident in his passion for go-karts, parasailing, indoor skydiving, and climbing. He was always up for a challenge and lived life to the fullest. His family and friends will deeply miss his energetic and joyful presence.
Quentin is preceded in death by his Grandpa Mark Gordon and Great-Grandparents Alva and Elizabeth Rostron and Bob and Doris Powell. He is survived by his parents, Laura and Tiffany Gordon; Grandpa Randy Powell; Grandma Janet (Kenny) Buehner; Grandma Deborah Gordon; several aunts and uncles; and many cousins.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024, from 12:30 PM to service time at Stodghill Funeral Home, followed by a service at 4:30 PM, officiated by Pastor Andy Payton.
