Pompano Beach Shooting: Detectives from the Broward Sheriff’s Office are investigating an alleged murder-suicide after responding to a gunfire call near Pompano Beach on Thursday afternoon, according to authorities. The incident occurred along Pier Street and Seabreeze Way, according to BSO.
When medics arrived, they discovered two persons with gunshot wounds; a woman was pronounced dead on the scene, and a male was taken to a local hospital, where he also died, according to investigators. Cellphone video captured the aftermath, showing a guy being carried away on a stretcher and a woman’s body covered by a yellow tarp beside a pier. BSO detectives were also observed taking photos of the scene and focussing on a neighboring automobile.
A worker at a nearby restaurant reported the shooting happened at 11 a.m., shortly after the pair entered the establishment visibly upset. The violence took the normally lively neighborhood by surprise. Detectives have not disclosed the guy or woman’s ages or identities, and a motive is unclear at this time.
