43-year-old Aaron Jay Low and 44-year-old Jamie Irene Cragg, both of Pennsylvania, were arrested Tuesday (June 4) by Troutman Police Officers. Low is charged on a felony warrant as a fugitive from another state and Cragg is charged with harboring a fugitive.
The Troutman Police Department received information Monday (June 3) from the Pennsylvania State Police that a prisoner on work release had escaped from their state and a woman who was assisting him in his escape had used her credit card at a Dollar General in Troutman. Officers were given information on the vehicle the subjects were suspected to be driving and told to be on the lookout for the fugitive.
On Tuesday, officers spotted the vehicle traveling near Autumn Leaf Road and South Main Street and conducted a traffic stop on Byers Road. Low and Cragg were found in the vehicle and taken into custody.
Both suspects were brought to the Iredell County Detention Center. Low was ordered held on a $500,000 bond while awaiting extradition. Cragg was jailed under $10,000 bond. Low has a District Court date July 3, Cragg has a District Court date August 8.
