Philip Marson Obituary, Death; – Maine State Police are conducting an investigation into a fatal accident that occurred on Interstate 95 in Sidney on Thursday morning.
According to Shannon Moss, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Public Safety, state troopers from Troop I responded to a report of a crash on I-95 southbound near mile marker 117 at approximately 7:00 a.m.
Moss indicated that a white Nissan pickup truck was discovered in the trees on the highway’s median. Upon arrival, troopers located the driver of the vehicle, identified as 69-year-old Philip Marson from Gardiner, who was pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in the truck, as reported by Moss.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing, although initial findings suggest that speed may have played a role, according to the release. Assistance at the scene was also provided by the Sidney Fire Department and Ready Road Tow Service.
