The beloved and longtime member of the Rochester & West Kent Art club, Peter Guest, has passed away. The club is very sorry to announce his departure. Julia, his wife, has graciously given the society permission to inform the larger community about this news.
Peter received multiple honors for his unique and beautiful artwork and made major contributions to society. He was especially well-known for his skill with oils and pastels, producing works that enthralled a wide audience. Peter’s devotion to his art was persistent; according to Julia, he painted even while receiving hospice care, and the personnel there expressed their appreciation for his passion and determination.
Adorned by his family, Peter departed in peace. Julia observed how much he enjoyed hanging out with other members of the Art Club, going to exhibitions, and participating in group activities. His love of painting and his kind, unassuming demeanor had a deep impression on everyone he came into contact with.
The loss of Peter is profound for the local art community as well as for society at large. He left behind a legacy of both artistic genius and human goodwill. He was a gifted artist and a beloved friend to many. Our thoughts and prayers are with Julia, Mark, and the entire family during this time of grief as we consider the time spent with Peter.
