Paul Peterson Obituary, Death – Paul A. Peterson, age 60, a resident of Lake City who had previously lived in St. Charles, passed away on Monday, November 14, 2022 at the Lake City Care Center. He was surrounded by his loving family as well as his family from the care center. Bennie and June (Wanek) Peterson welcomed their son Paul into the world on August 21, 1962 in Rochester.
Before relocating to St. Charles in 1990, he and his family had previously made their home in Rochester, Hayfield, Lewiston, and Winona. In 2011, he made the transition to the Lake City Care Center. Paul was a huge sports fan and followed all Minnesota teams, but his favorites were the Vikings and Twins—at least while they were doing well.
His only constant was the television remote control he carried in his left hand. Paul is survived by his mother, June, of St. Charles, his siblings, Suzanne (Bud) Wackwitz of Eau Claire, WI; Alan (Diane) Peterson of Eyota; Mary (Brian) Biske of Palisade; Robert Peterson of Stewartville; Jane (Michael) Hughes of St. Charles; and his brother-in-law, Stanley O’Brien, as well as his 26 nieces and nephews: Ann, Colleen, Mary Bennie, Paul’s father, passed away in 1997. Caryl O’Brien, Paul’s sister, passed away in 2020. Wayne Kampa, Paul’s brother-in-law, passed away in 1995. And Ella, Paul’s great-niece, passed away in 2019.1
