40-year-old Paul Owen Lowman of Watershed Road in Morganton was arrested last Friday (May 31) by Morganton Public Safety Officers. He’s charged with felony possession of schedule II controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Shortly after 7 p.m. Friday a Public Safety Officer conducted a traffic stop on a maroon 2005 Chevy Impala after running the registration plate and learning that the registered owner had an outstanding felony indictment. After making contact with the driver, Paul Owen Lowman, and confirming it was the vehicle’s owner, the suspect was taken into custody.
The warrants against Lowman are dated December 15, 2023. He was brought to the Burke County Jail under $2,000 secured bond. Lowman was not listed as an inmate as of earlier today (June 6). A Superior Court date is scheduled for July 1.
