Patrick Martin Obituary, Death; – A man who sustained gunshot wounds in Columbia on Monday morning has succumbed to his injuries, as confirmed by the Richland County Coroner’s Office. The victim has been identified as Patrick Martin, a 50-year-old resident of Elgin, according to Coroner Naida Rutherford’s statement on Tuesday.
At approximately 10 a.m. on Monday, law enforcement responded to reports of a shooting in the 5700 block of Farrow Road, situated in Richland County between S.C. 277 and U.S. 21/North Main Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an injured male, later identified as Martin, who was subsequently transported to a local hospital where he later passed away. In the aftermath of the shooting, another male individual was taken into custody for questioning, as reported by the police.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the motive behind the shooting remains unclear. The investigation is ongoing, being conducted by both the police and the coroner’s office.
