Patrick Kaasch Death: Patrick Kaasch, a beloved resident of Columbus, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, July 27, 2024. Services are currently pending.
Born on March 14, 1962, in Grand Island to Patricia Graus and Michael Kaasch, Pat moved to Columbus at a young age. He attended Columbus High School, where he met and fell in love with his middle school sweetheart, Julia Speicher. The two were married on July 17, 1981, at St. Anthony Church, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together.
Pat initially worked as a welder before deciding to further his education. His dedication and hard work paid off when he earned an associate degree in Drafting and Design, a testament to his commitment to personal growth and professional development.
An avid outdoorsman, Pat had a deep love for hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. He cherished his travels with friends, exploring various islands, and enjoying the beauty of nature. Above all, Pat’s greatest joy came from spending time with his children and grandchildren, whom he adored immensely.
Pat is survived by his devoted wife, Julia “Julie” Kaasch of Columbus; daughter Erica Nickolite of Lincoln, along with her children Trevor, Jace, and Kinley; son Adam Kaasch and his wife Lindsay of Columbus, with their children Hudson and Niah; and step-father Ron Graus of Columbus. He also leaves behind his siblings: John Kaasch and his wife Susan of Richmond Hill, GA; Sam Graus and his wife Hayley of Myrtle Beach, SC; and Sarah Graus and her husband Dustin of Linwood. Additionally, Pat is survived by his sister-in-law Kathy Kaasch of Schuyler, step-brother Mike Graus of Atlanta, GA, numerous nieces, nephews, and of course, hundreds of members of the Speicher family.
Pat was preceded in death by his parents Michael Kaasch and Patricia Graus, his brother Mike Kaasch, his sister Christine Heins, and his infant sister Cathryn Kaasch.
Pat’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. As the family awaits the finalization of service details, they find comfort in the outpouring of love and support from friends and loved ones.
Rest in peace, Patrick Kaasch. Your spirit and love for life will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know you.
