Patricia A Bane Obituary, Death; – Virginia State Police reported that a woman lost her life on Saturday morning in a two-vehicle collision in Rockbridge County, as stated in a press release. The incident occurred at 11:20 a.m. at the intersection of Pine Forest Road and U.S. 11, located south of Lexington.
According to police, a 2005 Toyota 4Runner did not yield the right-of-way while making a turn onto U.S. 11 from a stop sign on Pine Forest Road. The Toyota was subsequently struck by a southbound 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup on U.S. 11.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as 79-year-old Patricia A. Bane from Lexington, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that she was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.
The 40-year-old driver of the Dodge was not wearing his seat belt and sustained injuries. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. No charges are currently anticipated.
