The West Webster Fire Department, Webster EMS, and the Webster Police Department were all called to Klem Road near Five Mile Line Road on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 6:39 PM, for a motor vehicle collision involving a car and a bike.
According to the first results of the inquiry, a car heading east on Klem Road exited the road and hit one of the bikers who was traveling east on the south shoulder of the road.
The car then drove off the scene. Pamela Rubenstein, 57, of Webster, who was riding the bicycle, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where two days later she passed away from her wounds.
For several hours, police secured the area while conducting the investigation. This includes gathering evidence, speaking with participants and witnesses, and reconstructing the accident.
A request for assistance with the investigation was made, and the New York State Police Accident Reconstruction Unit responded.
The car that struck Mrs. Rubenstein on Wednesday night was eventually found and its driver was swiftly identified by police.
